Design is only as good as the results it delivers. Run by a web designer that understands marketing, nine2five creative designs with your marketing goals in mind. The best design is not only beautiful, but compelling as well. What good is a pretty website if your potential customers can’t find what they’re looking for and leave without buying or contacting you? Similarly, an email signup form had better do what it’s designed to do–get customers to subscribe to your email list. My emphasis is on clean, simple design that clearly communicates your message. nine2five creative is dedicated to providing high-quality design that gets you the results you’re looking for.
Additionally, implementing sustainable practices in business is important. The internet, though wonderful in many ways, is a big environmental polluter, and getting bigger as we spend more and more of our time online. It takes a lot of energy for web hosts to make sure all those websites are always available, and most of them are powered by dirty fossil fuels. That’s why we only use and recommend green web hosting services that power their servers with clean renewable energy. We maintain a paperless office, and use technologies such as digital signatures for important documents rather than printing them. Wherever possible, nine2five creative does what’s healthy and good for the planet and its inhabitants.
About Kristen Brooke Cacka
Born and raised in the farm country of Eastern Oregon, I began pursuing art at an early age. It started with stick figures, and quickly progressed into detailed pencil drawings. By the time I went to college I was studying fine art and graphic design.
While still in school at Portland State University, I began working for a nonprofit called Oregon Science & Technology Partnership. I was responsible for planning and marketing events for small businesses in emerging industries, such as biofuels and wave energy.
After graduation, I continued to work for the Partnership, promoting educational events and designing all the marketing materials myself. Seeing what I had designed, local businesses, government agencies, and other nonprofits began asking me to create their marketing materials, and Portlandia Graphics was born. I continued to develop my first business venture over the next two years. Eventually, having had my fill of Portland’s dark and rainy winters, I closed the virtual doors of Portlandia Graphics and went looking for sunshine in southern California.
Since moving to San Diego in 2007, I have managed professional certificate programs in digital and social media and marketing at SDSU, and continued my work in graphic and web design with my new business, nine2five creative. I currently live in Little Italy. In addition to running nine2five creative, I spend my time cooking, reading, hiking, snorkeling, and enjoying all that San Diego has to offer.
