To blog or not to blog?

Does this question sound familiar? You may have been wondering whether or not you should have a blog on your business website. Sure, your web designer or SEO specialist may have told you it’s a good idea, but it takes time to update regularly and you’re already plenty busy running a business. Is it really worth all the trouble?

A recent study shows that websites that have a blog receive 55% more traffic than websites without a blog. That’s a lot of visitors! Think about it. You’re reading my blog. Would you have visited my site if I didn’t have one? The truth is, no matter how much you love your website, people won’t visit without a good reason. A decent blog can give them one.

So the real question is, do you want (more) people to visit your site? If you’re a business trying to promote a product or service, the answer is clear. The fact is, more people seeing your site will translate into more sales sooner or later. Why not make it sooner by adding a blog to your site? For 55% more traffic, I’d say it’s worth the trouble.
